3Not so AMAZING
By Roman Cecilia
This projector is breath taking in 2D and 3D. Amazing picture quality. Very little adjustment needed. The movies look awesome and the movies in 3D are perfection. I am using the Ultraclear DLP Link glasses with this projector and are great.Update on my first review of the BenQ W7000: Yes is a great projector in image and 3D display, BUT AS ADVERTISED IS NOT "PANAMORPH READY OR CAPABLE (ANAMORPHIC LENS PROJECTION) When projecting 3D material, the projector is not able to go to "Letterboxing" (stretching the image vertically so the anamorphic lens can work. My projector has the new firmware l.3. They need to update their firmware again to allow the projector to go "Letterboxing" with 3D program , this is a firmware glitch they have to fix. As it is now, the projector is not Panamorph ready (or anamorphic lens projection ready}.

5Editor's Choice. Awesome 3D! Excellent Value!
By P. Colin McGraw
I'll admit that I'm used to TVs as I was sold on their silent operation, relatively deep blacks, and uncomplicated, watch even in complete daylight viewing opportunities. I have a 60" Sharp Elite set, which was considered the spare-no-expense best TV on the market when it first came out, so I have pretty high expectations when it comes to picture quality. That said, this projector has helped me come around a little bit as I ended up being VERY impressed with many aspects of its performance.Projectors are all about BIG picture and I found that came with inherent advantages. Not only do you get to see more detail in the picture because of the size, I found that you also get much more profound 3D effects, and movies that rely on atmosphere and scenery REALLY benefit from the big screen, which pulls you into the environment more than a relatively small TV.For what it's worth, this projector in particular is pretty kick-butt. While seeing what others thought about the projector, I discovered that PC World Australia named the W7000 "editor's choice", saying it easily competed with a projector costing hundreds more. They and I especially liked the 2000 lumen brightness which, while not enough to project during the day outdoors, is enough to project a decent 1080p image even in a room that isn't completely darkened (see my customer image for an example, but please ignore the messy room). The picture looks better in a darkened, light controlled room of course, but you'll easily be able to get away with using this projector in a room that is less than pitch black.Lights on or off colors are vivid and bright, and I found I could dial in the accuracy pretty well using Disney WOW: World of Wonder [Blu-ray] to calibrate. Now that I've had a chance to spend some time with the projector with my wife and five kids, I found it's a little hard to watch my TV sometimes! The downside of the W7000 is that you have to deal with a bit of fan noise (which can be slightly mitigated by using economy mode), but the kids beg for the big screen and there are certain movies (3D especially) that sing more than on my (more expensive) TV! My 3D reference disk Hugo came to life in a whole new way with the W7000 and the colorful Ponyo Blu-ray made me feel as though I visited the seaside Japanese village in the film for the first time (despite having watched the film half a dozen times on my TV)!In short, I'm hooked, and strongly recommend the W7000 to anyone looking for a projector in this price range! The 3D is excellent (PC World Australia called it "class leading"), the picture is great and the experience is generally a hoot.

3Nice Projector but with some issues
By JimmySaint
Had this projector for about a month and do like it but it has a couple of small "annoyances". I use it with HD Cable, PS3 and Sony bdps590 Blu ray player. Previously had Optoma HD65, Epson 8350 in that order. This is the first 3D projector Ive had and the 3D (TrueDepth DLPLink Rechargeable 3D glasses are excellent and the company is great to deal with) is great but more a gimmic than a must have for me. The projector does have a nice picture, the throw distance is farther than the 8350 and placement flexibility is not as good. The DLP has great colors but it does seem to be a somewhat softer picture to me than the LCD has. The biggest annoyance is a high pitch sound whenever using the Dynamic Black option. So much so that the option to me is useless. Overall is a good projector and if 3D is something your big on than it is a great projector for you - otherwise I would have to think there are some better options.
