Whats not to like!!!!!!!!! UPDATE after 950 hours!!!!!
By greg1292
Installed the Qumi Q5 using a panamorph UH480 lens and 133" curved scope screenand the picture all I need in a high def picture. Sure you could get a little morerefinement or black level but for 650.00 this projector is a steal.I use Windows 8 with the shark codecs and the picture has a lot of depth, sharpness, and 3d effect. The digital zoom is a nice feature and the noise is not bad from 3 ft away.Pro'sPQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!3yr warrantyno bulbscan fill a large screen in a light controlled room.3D 1280X720 120HZ with Nvidia use cvt blank with custom tuningand let the fun begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Quirksfocus takes a few minutes from a cold startremote is a jokeAll in all a great little machine for hometheater on a budget!Update the picture has continued to get better and after 950 hours will rivalprojectors costing 3 to 5 time more. Here is a link for pictures and more discussion at AVS forum.Added Nvidia vision 2 3d 720p 120hz with the VGA mod and 5360 .inf file and works extremley well! I have the Hulk sitting in my lap from 9 feet away what is not to like. Looks better than the Acer 5360 in 3D enough said.Focus issue is non existent mount the projector from the ceiling and used no keystone adjustment. Focuswas fixed.Q5 is like a fine wine gets better with age.

power failed within first hour of use, seems dead
By bq
I just got the Q5 projector to work with my Dell laptop when I heard a "snap" noise from the projector, and it turned off. Seems dead as a doornail now. Haven't been able to get it to power up. I am guessing that the power adapter failed, and/or a circuit breaker in the projector itself did its job and committed suicide rather than cause a fire.Too bad, I really liked this little travel projector.- Color is very good, didn't notice the problems with color that I saw years ago with our first DLP portable projector (yellow couldn't work, etc).- bright enough- you hear some fan noise, but nothing like the standard tabletop projector- ability to show PowerPoint presentations right off the projector without a laptop is fantastic, the projector itself is the backup for your laptop breaking- so small I could chuck it in my laptop bag without noticing, and it came with a good pouchOther issue this projector might have is auto-detecting a VGA connection through the universal adapter (that it comes with). I was able to get it to recognize my laptop using the supplied remote by hitting the Source button. Probably not a significant issue if you always have the remote or set the preference to always assume VGA connection.Meanwhile I think I am going to return it. I am using this for business, and it doesn't have to be pretty but it does have to work.Update - I returned this for Replacement by Amazon. Hoping to be 2nd time lucky. Something seems odd with that process, because that was a week ago, and Amazon still hasn't shipped the replacement. I guess I should have Returned it for credit and then bought another one in the meantime. Now I have lost at least a week, not a good thing. Live and learn.

Not Running
By Marcelo G A Melotti
Good Afternoon, I bought a projector Qumi Q5 few months ago and used it 3 or 4 times.Today I went to use the projector for a business presentation and noticed some black spots in the projected image. Then these small black spots began to multiply the screen and soon were taking the whole image. I realized I totally lost the brightness of the image ...What do happened to my projector? How do I manage to get my projector repaired?I live in Brazil and bought in the United States ...Should I send it where? How soon will have the projector running? Thanks in advance!
